There are two types of setup – a keyword (Setup.) and an ability (Setup:).
Setup as a keyword
Setup as a keyword is mostly found in the villain deck. It is not bold, and is followed by a full stop. A card with the setup keyword begins the game in play.
Setup as an ability
Setup as an ability is found on villains, schemes and alter-ego cards. It is the word “setup”, bold, with colon, and followed by instructions. Follow the instructions on the card during game setup.
